New Lineup

A project that started out in 2004 as two guys playing about with various styles and experimenting for personal amusement, Goresoerd has quickly evolved into the spearhead of intelligent, vicious and tongue-in-cheek extreme music in the Estonian scene, drawing together members from such highly acclaimed local acts as Catafalc and Nihilistikrypt. After releasing a 6-track MCD “Nekromantik” under a nascent label Stuka Sound, Goresoerd drifted away from the initial grind-death-grotesquerade. The new material, a truly eclectic feast of 17 hilarious and extreme tracks, with influences varying from mainstream rock to crust hardcore, entitled “Goremarket Mid-Prices”, was released in 2007 by Estonia’s biggest metal music label, Nailboard Records. Hectic, hyperdriven and entertaining live shows have paved the way for the band’s success, culminating in a recent appearance at the Hard Rock Laager festival headlined by Enslaved and Cathedral. Since the summer of 2007, Goresoerd are working hard with their new material, making it deeper-laid and more professional than anything in the field, thus aiming to develop their unique style and make it heard among wider audiences.

GORESOERD blasted off as an idea for a project after some collaboration between Stig and Kari of Symbolic State in late 2004. Back then it was just for fun and experimenting, a short foray from our main band. We used a drum machine, as it gave us some advantage we could just skip the part of a real drummer's trials and tribulations in the studio. In the beginning it was meant to be grind, but after inducing humour and even some elements of parody, we found ourselves head over heels committed to the project. After generating some demo material and having a few close friends listen to it, we thought that it would be awesome to somehow perpetuate our efforts. A demo CD-R we deemed too cheap a medium and excluded that idea since the very beginning. Not long after came Stuka Sound, who were interested in releasing our stuff as an MCD. We picked six songs out of dozens on the demo, reprogrammed all drum tracks and recorded guitars onto it with the help of Sorts (NIHILISTIKRYPT). Meanwhile, Nagy (CATAFALC) offered to fulfil the vocal duties, so we became a three-piece. Mixing and editing (a kickass job!!!) was made by Meelis Tauk.
"Nekromantik" MCD is officially released by Stuka Sound.
Ken (SPITBLOOD, NIHILISTIKRYPT) & Ando (CATAFALC) joined GORESOERD.
In January 2007 Goresoerd departed ways with Stika Sound and started to work with another Estonian record company - Nailboard Records. This collaboration was very successful - at the end of March new studio album "Goremarket Mid-Prices" was released. This was also time when Ando decided to leave the band. Luckily we didn't have to look for a new bass player very long - our comrade Uziel is doing very well as a new member of Goresoerd.
